[Global Times comprehensive report] On July 17, the water quality of Tokyo Taichang Seaside Park, the test venue of the Triathlon World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games for the disabled, failed to meet the standards and stopped swimming.

Taichang Seaside Park has been designated as the venue for next year's Tokyo Olympic Games and Paralympic Triathlon, according to Japan Today News Network, 17. After tests showed that E. coli levels in seaside parks were more than twice the acceptable level, the International Iron Man Triathlon Federation suspended swimming and 70 athletes took part in the "Iron Man Biathlon" competition consisting of long-distance running and bicycle. The pollution may be caused by "strong rainfall accompanied by typhoons, ocean currents and other factors", and it may be the inflow of sewage beyond the capacity of drainage facilities, said Takazu Ichiro, the special director of the Japan Iron Man Federation.

Reported that the preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games won wide acclaim, but the summer heat and poor water quality made them feel headache in the test competition. Earlier, in the open water swimming test competition held in the same venue on November 11, some contestants said that the water smelled bad and voices worried about water quality appeared in succession.
